Terra Luna Transportation Guide (3 options to get to the parks)

Whether you’re heading to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk, or the brand-new Epic Universe, the transportation from Universal’s Terra Luna Resort is straightforward for anyone staying here. From buses to walking to easy rideshare options, you won’t need a car to get where you want to go!

Below, I’ll walk you through every transportation option from Terra Luna Resort, along with how long each one takes, to help you choose the fastest and most convenient way.

Option #1: Take the complimentary buses!

This is the only transportation option that Universal provides from Terra Luna. You can use the bus shuttles to get to any of the parks and CityWalk.

The bus stop couldn’t be easier to find. It’s located right outside the main lobby entrance. As you walk out, turn right, and you will see it.

You can expect buses to arrive every 10-15 minutes. I’m almost always impressed with the frequency of buses when I’m staying at Universal’s hotels. The main thing is that you need to pay attention to WHERE the bus is heading when it arrives. You don’t want to go to Epic Universe if you want to head to CityWalk. The buses are clearly marked where it’s going, and you can always verify with the driver.

Universal runs shuttle buses from Terra Luna beginning about an hour before Early Park Admission and continuing until theme parks close. During peak times (park opening/closing), waits can be longer.

Here’s how long the bus ride is for each location:

  • Epic Universe: Under 5 minutes!

Terra Luna is located VERY close to Epic Universe. In fact, the hotel is brand new and was built at the same time as Epic. It’s a great resort to stay at if you want to visit Epic frequently during your visit.

The bus drops you off at a reserved area just for Universal Orlando resorts. From here, you have a short walk to the entrance of Epic, where you will first go through a security line.

In my opinion, taking the bus is the fastest way to get to Epic Universe from Terra Luna.

  • CityWalk / Islands of Adventure / Universal Studios Florida: Approximately 15 minutes away

The reason that these three are lumped together is that they share the same general entrance complex.

The bus drops you off right outside the entrance to CityWalk. From there, you will walk through a general security line and enter CityWalk. From there, the entrances to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios are just moments away!

  • Volcano Bay Water Park: About 15 minutes

Terra Luna also provides buses to get to Universal’s water park, Volcano Bay. Because the demand isn’t as high, sometimes the buses are not running as frequently. I recommend asking the front desk for the current bus schedule when you arrive!

Option #2: Ridshares or Taxis!

As mentioned above, the only way that Universal provides at Terra Luna is the complimentary bus shuttles.

Overall, it’s a solid option, but there are a few drawbacks. It’s frustrating to walk out of the hotel and see a bus driving away, knowing you now have to wait 15 minutes for the next one. Or in the morning, there can be lots of people waiting, and you’re either crammed inside or there isn’t enough room for your family, and you must wait for the next bus.

Instead of the bus, sometimes our family uses rideshares, like Uber or Lyft, to get around Universal Orlando. There are so many drivers around, we rarely wait more than a few minutes for someone to pick us up. For under $15, we can get to where we need to go quicker and more comfortably!

Terra Luna even has a separate area dedicated to Uber and Lyft!

I think it’s an especially good solution at Terra Luna to use a rideshare to go to the CityWalk complex or Volcano Bay.

Option #3: Walk!

While it isn’t an official option, you can walk to Epic Universe from Terra Luna. It takes about 20 minutes.

I have marked the route and how to do it on the map below:

The only satellite image available is before Epic and Terra Luna were finished.
  • You need to actually head away from Epic as you leave Terra Luna, crossing S. Kirkman Road.
  • Follow the walking path, passing Stella Nova on your right.
  • Turn right, eventually connecting with the walking path from Stella Nova.
  • Cross Epic Blvd, entering the Epic Universe bus dropoff area. At this point, you have arrived and will go through security!

Just to be clear, you CAN’T walk to CityWalk, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, or Volcano Bay from Terra Luna. It is way too far away.

Transportation Map of Terra Luna

I marked a few things above:

  • #19: Where you will find and ride the bus shuttles
  • #20: The rideshare pick-up area for Uber/Lyft
  • #6: You can rent a car right at Terra Luna. Perfect for day trips around Orlando or to head to Disney for a day.

Above is the route you would take to start WALKING to Epic Universe.
